Actress Sonakshi Sinha made her debut in Bollywood in the year 2010 with 'Dabangg'. Post the super success of the film she went on to do commercial pot boilers with superstars Salman Khan, Ajay Devgn and Akshay Kumar. But when she signed filmmaker Vikramaditya Motwane's period romance 'Lootera' opposite Ranveer Singh, ripples were sent across the nation.

For the first time she is starring opposite a young actor and is also experimenting with the genre. The film being a period love story is set in the world of 1950s in Kolkata.

The first look of the film was released yesterday (view video). Sonakshi confesses that shooting for the film was a difficult but fulfilling experience.

"The film has been the most difficult shooting experience for me so far. Be it the character, look, performance or locations, it was difficult for me to work on it as everything was from an era I knew nothing about," said Sonakshi.

Sonakshi confessed that she too had doubts, but all of them were put to rest when she saw the rushes. She claims that it is her best performance so far.

"Every struggle was worth the effort. I loved the rushes. And hence I can safely say this is probably my best performance so far. Vikram had transformed me as I felt that I am seeing an actress from that era," added Sonakshi.
