Sonam Kapoor is miffed with the Censor board

23rd December 2011

Sonam Kapoor has often hogged headlines for her fashion sense that she so proudly flaunts with panache. But this time it is different. Sonam Kapoor has been in spotlight as she recently indulged in some heavy action stuff and went out of her league to exemplify boldness. It was her middle finger act in the promos of her forthcoming film ‘Players’ that has hogged all the negative headlines. Censor too has targeted Sonam and filmmakers for the talked about scene and guess what, Sonam is unhappy with this uninvited intervention.

Sonam feels that censor board members need to broaden their minds. She feels that there’s a huge exposure that the youth has these days and cropping such scenes would do no good. “Censor board is not okay with the middle finger act. They don't care what is happening on the internet. My teenage cousins are viewing stuff on the internet which is worse  than what is happening in the cinema. Just one finger is not going to change anything” said Sonam while promoting ‘Players’.

Further justifying her act, she quoted, “It's the normal language that we use in our day-to-day life, especially us young people. I am not saying that it is a good thing to do, but it's very today. If I am playing a girl of today, and I speak this way and I am not going to say the 'F' word, it will look very unreal” quoted a disappointed Sonam.
