Sridevi and Sharmila win Padma Awards

The year 2012 was indeed special for actress Sridevi who made a powerful comeback with her film 'English Vinglish'. After receiving praises and accolades for her performance in the film, the actress has achieved yet another feat.

The actress has been honoured with the Padma Shri and she was extremely delighted to receive the award. When the winners were announced, she mentioned that she was thrilled.

"I don't know what I did to deserve it. But I must have done something right to be honoured by our government," she had said in an interview. Her daughters Jhanvi and Khushi were also seen cheering for their mother.

Actress Sharmila Tagore has also been honoured with the Padma Bhushan. They all received the honour from President Pranab Mukherjee at a ceremony at Rashtrapati Bhawan's Darbar Hall.

Late actors Rajesh Khanna and Jaspal Bhatti have also been honoured with the Padma Bhushan and they will receive their awards posthumously in the second batch.

Previously, Saif Ali Khan, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Madhuri Dixit, Kajol and many other B-town celebrities have received this honour.
