Actor Upendra's latest release 'Srimathi' is set to gross over Rs. five crores in its first week of release, a record of sorts these days. The credit goes not to Uppi but his wife Priyanka. With good reason, as 'Super', Upendra's comeback directorial venture had grossed around Rs 4.9 crores in the first week.

Priyanka, whose last film was 'Malla' opposite Crazy Star Ravichandran had settled down to matrimony and kids before she was approached for 'Srimathi'. She chose to accept the role of a wife who stands by her husband, as she would be acting opposite none other than her husband.

While Celina Jaitley's sizzling scenes brought in the crowds, the audience has appreciated Priyanka's mature acting- not going overboard anywhere. The industry is amused that of the two 'comebacks' the wife has just managed to outshine her husband!

Her husband is far from complaining though , proud as he is of his beautiful and talented wife. There might be other projects soon with the couple in the lead as well.
