Tuesday, April 2, everyone witnessed the opening ceremony of the Indian Premiere League (IPL) season 6 which was held in Kolkata. Stars like Shah Rukh Khan, Katrina Kaif and Deepika Padukone performed at the event. SRK specially approached international pop singer Pitbull to make it a grand affair (view gallery).

As season 6 kicked-off yesterday, SRK's Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Delhi Daredevils (DD) played against each other in the inuagural match.

Deepika Padukone stayed back to cheer for her co-star's team and hence SRK has decided that he will cheer for Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), when they are not playing against KKR as Deepika stands for the team.

"It is really great to have Deepika with us. Yesterday she performed really well in the opening ceremony, after that she agreed to stay back and cheer for KKR. So I have decided that in this IPL season when RCB is not up against KKR, I will cheer for RCB along with Deepika," said SRK.

KKR won the first match by six wickets against DD, and this created a moment of happiness for Kolkata as they rejoiced their home team's victory.

"It has been really wonderful. Kolkata has always been kind to KKR. We are looking forward to carry forward from here. We also try to give back. As the city has always been supportive to us, we also try to give back what we are best at and that is entertainment," SRK said during the post match interaction.
