Cricket and Bollywood are two things that rule the nation. Often, cricket matches between the world champions set a platform for the Bollywood stars to promote their films at the highest level, as no amount of promotion would be able to match up the kind of attention their collaboration with cricket would get them. This is a craft mastered by most of the Bollywood Czars; Shahrukh's 'Ra-one' promotion, during the recently concluded World Cup 2011, got him as much attention as the matches.
It is this plan that the 'Dum Maaro Dum' team too wishes use for their promotion. After successfully unveiling the title track of the film during one of the World Cup Matches, the 'DMD' cast and crew will again hit the field but this time during the Indian Premier League. The current on-going, money spinning series, which vouches for cricket-meets-entertainment mantra, is all set to witness another grand tie-up of Cricket and Bollywood. Abhishek Bachchan, at a recent meeting with the media, declared that the whole cast-crew of 'DMD' will be present to cheer 'Mumbai Indians' on the 15th of April at the Wankhede Stadium.
Earlier, the team of 'Tashan' (Kareena Kapoor, Saif Ali Khan, and Anil Kapoor) promoted their film by cheering for the 'Mumbai Indians' but the promotions didn't help an ounce, as the film bombed at the box-office. It remains to be seen what fruits this promotion plan will bear for the team of 'Dum Maaro Dum'.
