Sun Pictures, the film production and distribution arm of Sun TV Network, made a re-entry in Kollywood with Mankatha, after it went on a hibernation mode following the arrest of its chief operating officer Hansraj Saxena.
Right from the day the 50th film of Ajith hit the screens, there is no looking back for Sun Pictures in its second innings, as its new head Sembian Sivakumar is making smart moves in the movie business.
Recently, Sun Pictures acquired the distribution and release rights of Vishal-starrer Vedi, besides the television rights of 7aam Arivu, Suriya's next, and Vimal's forthcoming film Vaagai Sooda Vaa.
The audio launch of 7aam Arivu in Chennai Thursday night was exclusive covered by Sun TV and it will be soon aired. Also, Sun group of channels is promoting Vedi, which is set to hit the screens September 30. 'CMD Kalanithi Maran has given full freedom to Sivakumar and he is making aggressive moves,' sources say.
