Sam Worthington: People think I'm Galifianakis

(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Sam Worthington keeps being mistaken for Zach Galifianakis since growing a beard.

The Australian hunk has appeared in one of the biggest movies of all time, Avatar, but film fans still fail to recognise him. He finds it amusing when people unwittingly congratulate him on his performance in The Hangover franchise.

"Seriously, I get recognised more at the moment because I've got a beard and people think I'm Zach Galifianakis. They go, Hangover 2 rocked, dude!' But in reality, I've always been able to go under the radar," he explained to Shortlist magazine. "I had a big career in Australia but I could still go out to the local bar. I think if you want to get recognised, you can. If you want to drive around in a Ferrari and stay in the hotel where all the paparazzi are, it'll happen."

The 35-year-old is planning to take a break from making movies for a while. Sam is looking forward to relaxing in a sunny climate and spending time with his beloved pet dog. He can't understand why his decision has caused such uproar.

"I've been working consistently for four years and I've never taken time off, so I thought I would. But as always, bloggers and whatever f**king media spin it into, That's it, he's retiring,' which made me laugh. I've worked back-to-back and haven't stopped," he explained. "I'm looking forward to doing nothing: sitting on a beach, doing nothing, walking the dog I've got a King Charles spaniel crossed with a bijon called Bacon and figuring out what I want to do."

Sam also spoke about missing out on the chance to play James Bond.

The star got down to the final three, but the role eventually went to Daniel Craig.

Sam insists he wasn't disappointed to lose out on the suave spy role, because there is so much pressure attached to playing the character.

"I wasn't gutted at the time, man. It didn't bother me in the slightest because you can learn from it and go, Do you know what? I wouldn't want to see a James Bond movie with me in it anyway,'" he laughed. "The last time there was an Australian as James Bond it was George Lazenby and he f**ked it up. I don't want to be the new f**king George Lazenby. But you know, I learned a lot from that, which I took into the Avatar auditions." (C) Cover Media
