(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Susan Sarandon has joked that her children are "embarrassed" when they watch her movies.

The 64-year-old actress has enjoyed an illustrious career, appearing in movies including Dead Man Walking, Thelma & Louise and The Client. Even though Susan is one of the best known faces in Hollywood, her three grown up children haven't seen many of her films. The star claims her daughter, 26-year-old Eva, even makes up alternative careers for her mother when people ask about her parents.

"I am pretty sure they don't know most of my movies," Susan replied when German television station Tele 5 asked what her kids think about her acting. "It's always embarrassing for them to see me on screen. My daughter tells strangers I work in a trailer."

Susan who also has two sons, 22-year-old Jack and Miles, 19 went on to reveal she is thrilled that her career fitted in so well with motherhood. She feels thankful that she was able to spend so much time with her kids when they were growing up while still pursuing acting projects.

"I am so grateful for the roles I was allowed to play so it wasn't a sacrifice for me to renounce other movies for the sake of my family," she added. "I noted that my children really needed me when they were teenagers. Now with my youngest son going to university I can let go."

The actress is also excited at the prospect of her children settling down and starting their own families. She has vowed to be a generous grandmother and treat her grandchildren to gifts and exciting days out.

"I look forward to spoiling my grandchildren!" Susan smiled. "Secretly I will do all the things with them their parents forbid." (C) Cover Media
