(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Taylor Lautner says it was "awesome" to be more mature in the new Twilight movie.

The fourth film in the series, The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 1, follows vampire Edward and human Bella as they embark on married life together. Taylor plays werewolf Jacob Black, Bella's best friend who is also in love with her.

Taylor revealed that portraying Jacob maturing throughout the film was a real challenge.

"It was awesome for me as an actor to try and bring alive the old side of Jacob and now the new mature side of him," he said in a video interview released by production company Summit. "But as an audience and even for me to watch Jacob transform like this, is so cool but it's weird. He realises that he has to become a man and do the right thing."

However, Taylor also explained that it wasn't just his character that transforms throughout the movie. The 19-year-old said that co-stars Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson, who play Bella and Edward, also go through extreme changes.

"The most exciting thing is seeing all the characters in a new light," he revealed. "All of the characters change so much from the beginning of the movie to the end. I think that's going to be really exciting to see."

The new movie starts with Edward and Bella's wedding. Robert confessed that he is relieved the pair are finally getting married.

"Edward's proposed to her about 50 times by now. It'll be quite nice that he doesn't have to propose anymore," he smiled. (C) Cover Media
