(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Taylor Momsen has "quit acting" and wants to focus entirely on her music career.

The 18-year-old actress-turned-singer is best known for her role as Jenny Humphrey in the hit television series Gossip Girl. The American songstress also fronts the rock band The Pretty Reckless who released their debut album Light Me Up in 2010.

In November of last year, the blonde star took "indefinite hiatus" from the popular drama show, and in May this year confirmed she would not be reprising her role as Jenny on the CW series.

Taylor says she now wants to leave her acting career in the past.

"I quit Gossip Girl and now tour and am in a band," she told Elle."That's pretty much all I want to do. Hopefully, I'll be able to only do that for the rest of my life."

Taylor loves the process of making music. The controversial teen, who has hit headlines recently for her risqu stage routines and foul-mouthed interviews, says she enjoys the writing, recording and performing stages in different ways.

"I love it all," she gushed.

"Writing is a very tortuous process, but, you know, I would say one of the most rewarding at the end; I love recording, it's a completely different mindset from being on tour. But anytime you have an opportunity to play music, whether it's in the studio or on the road, it's the best thing in the world." (C) Cover Media
