(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Taylor Swift has welcomed a new kitten into her family.

The 21-year-old singer is a great animal lover. Her Nashville home is filled with loving pets.

Taylor has two Doberman dogs named Bug and Baby and has introduced another critter to her canines this week.

"Her name is Meredith - Meredith Grey because she's a gray cat, and because I love [the television programme] Grey's Anatomy!" Taylor told Us Weekly in a telephone interview.

Taylor is impressed with Meredith's outgoing nature.

"She's awesome. She's like one of those cats that give cats a good name," Taylor gushed. "She doesn't hide under furniture and get weird around people. She's really friendly and fun and she's perfect for the road because she doesn't ever get freaked out. So I'm really glad that she has a cool personality."

Taylor is also impressed with Meredith's kitty anatomy. A Scottish Fold cat, Meredith's ears bend down and fold toward the front of her head.

"So [Meredith] has [these] awesome, weird ears," Taylor explained. "I love it. She's so cute... She's a good cat."

Taylor has bonded with her animals. Currently she is single and has not been on the dating scene in a while.

"I don't have a boyfriend. I don't even have like kind of a boyfriend," Taylor said on The Ellen DeGeneres show last month. "I don't have someone that I'm texting that is a guy that might someday be my boyfriend."

Taylor received the Entertainer of the Year award at the Country Music Awards Wednesday night.
