The Muppets honoured on Walk of Fame

21st March 2012

The cast of The Muppets yesterday received the honour of having a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

Childhood favourites including Kermit the Frog, Miss Piggy, Fozzie Bear and Gonzo the Great were all in attendance.

The gang received the 2,466th star which Kermit said he was thankful for.

"We are thrilled to be here today," Kermit said. "So the Hollywood Walk of Fame people can honour all the Muppets."

But ever the diva, Miss Piggy seemed annoyed that the star was not only for her.

"Wait a second, I thought they were honouring moi!" she screeched. "I demand a recount."

But Kermit kept things in perspective and reminded her that they were all now in the esteemed company of other recipients of the Los Angeles landmark.

"Now we're right up there with the greatest stars in entertainment," he said.

"And they're right up there with moi," Miss Piggy added always having to have the final word.

The Muppets have seen resurgence in their careers after the recent success of their movie which has now been released on DVD.

Legendary Muppeteer Jim Henson first brought characters to prominence in the 1950s.
