Siddharth Roy Kapur's Roy Kapur Films and Ronnie Screwvala's RSVP Productions' 'The Sky Is Pink' finally freezes a release date. Starring Priyanka Chopra, Farhan Akhtar, Zaira Wasim in pivotal role, it based on the life of motivational speaker, Aisha Chaudhary who is detected with pulmonary fibrosis.
This Shonali Bose directed will release on October 11, 2019. Trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted,"Release date finalised… #TheSkyIsPink to release on 11 Oct 2019… Stars Priyanka Chopra, Farhan Akhtar and Zaira Wasim… Directed by Shonali Bose… Produced by RSVP and Roy Kapur Films."
This marks the second collaboration of Farhan and Priyanka after 'Dil Dhadakne Do' and it also mark PeeCee comeback after 3 years of hiatus in Bollywood, she was last seen in Prakash Jha's cop drama, 'Jai Gangaajal'.
Director Shonali Bose said, "Priyanka was always my first choice. She suits the character really well. The film is based on a true story. The script was first picked by producer Siddharth Roy Kapur and he was on the same page as me as far as the casting went."
She also clarified that pulmonary fibrosis of Aisha's life is just a part of the film but it majorly focuses on Aisha's parents bonding, she adds, "Pulmonary fibrosis is a part of the film. It is a true story and it is the journey of how you deal with it."
