(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Tobey Maguire says his friendship with Leonardo DiCaprio is intense.

The two Hollywood movie stars have been best friends since their teenage years, when they would often be auditioning for the same roles.

Tobey is married to jewellery designer Jennifer Meyer and they have two children, daughter Ruby, four, and one-year-old son Otis.

Tobey has revealed he and Leonardos friendship has strengthened as they have got older, and the star says he appreciates the way Leonardo cares for Ruby and Otis.

"He is my best friend and a wonderful uncle to the kids. It is great to share that with him. Leo always accompanied me, once I married, once I became a father. Through that our friendship has become more intense," Tobey told German television channel Tele 5.

The 35-year-old father went on to describe how lucky he feels to have met his wife and to be a part of such a happy family. The Hollywood star insists that aspect of his life is far more important than his career.

"I am eternal grateful for the huge love I feel for my kids and my wife. Also because I know how breakable life is. The fact that I am a celebrity and have a great career is totally unimportant compared to that," he explained.

He also discussed how much fun he has with his children, saying they can always make him feel happy.

"I am sweet on everything they do. On everything. We always play crazy little games and crack up. The kids instantly put a big smile on my face," he gushed.

Tele 5 will show the 1998 film Pleasantville, which Tobey stars in opposite Reese Witherspoon, on September 14. (C) Cover Media
