Hilary Duff: Breastfeeding is wonderful challenge

21st April 2012

Hilary Duff is having a "really wonderful experience" breastfeeding, although she admits it isn't easy.

The actress and husband Mike Comrie welcomed their son Luca Cruz into the world at the end of last month.

Although some elements of motherhood pose a challenge for Hilary, she is so excited to wake up to her baby every day.

"I'm breastfeeding now so that's a really wonderful experience -- challenging but wonderful," Hilary told Us Weekly. "My favourite thing is feeling that incredible amount of love when you meet your baby and you wake up the next morning and you think, 'Wow!' "

The 24-year-old first-time mother is happy to have the opportunity to exercise again.

"I just started [spin classes] about a week ago at SoulCycle and I'm addicted to it," Hilary shared. "It's a great workout and it's perfect because it's only 45 minutes -- where else can you sweat like that in 45 minutes?"

Although Hilary is dedicated to exercising, the actress isn't fretting over losing the baby weight too quickly.

"I'm not stressing about it. I'm working out because I honestly missed it during my pregnancy - getting in that good, hard workout," she explained. "I need endorphins in my life to be a happy person. I want my body back but I'm not freaked out or anything -- just working out and trying to eat a little bit healthier."
