January 28, 2011 (Sampurn Wire): About seven Tollywood films from the Telugu industry have already been churned out, and the scene is neither heart warming not fatal. While only two films have done well at the box-office, there are more which have got critical acclaim, but missed the commercial success.
Golconda High School was released recently to the praise of critics but unfortunately failed to click with the masses. Worse, Parama Veera Chakra with high hopes had released early in January, but flopped out. Graduate was on the same line as Parama Veer Chakra too.
A movie which could have done good business but failed to, was Anaganaga Oka Dheerudu. But given its astronomical budget, and thus ticketing, the movie can hardly cover its production cost for now. This is one problem which had also plagued the entire Bollywood industry last year unfriendly budgets. Perhaps the makers will now understand their pockets better.
But among those Tollywood movies which have made a mark is Harish Shankars Mirapakaya or Red Chillies. Deeksha Seth and Ravi Tejas entertainer has been visited at the theatres largely and is the hit so far. But this weeks release Wanted is again expected to be panned at the box office. In case one wants to watch out one more interesting film at theatres now, Ala Modalaindi is another good option.
