(Cover) - EN Fashion - Tom Ford has sparked speculation his debut womenswear collection will have an androgynous theme.

The fashion designer is due to preview his first ready-to-wear womens line at a cocktail party on Sunday night as part of New York Fashion Week. Tom is famous for his mens suits, but has not revealed much about his debut ladies fashion range.

Rumours the collection will be more masculine than initially thought are now rife after edgy French model Lou Doillon revealed she would be modelling Toms new designs at the upcoming show in an interview with WWD.

Lou is renowned for her androgynous look, and is often seen wearing mens clothing when she is off-duty. British fashion magazine Grazia thinks Lous casting implies that Tom is going for a masculine aesthetic.

We can't help wondering if Tom Ford is intending to create a vive-la-difference ambience of sexy women in classic tuxedo suits, a la Helmut Lang - for a feminine take on his oh-so-successful men's suits, the publication reported. (C) Cover Media
