Popular South Indian actress Trisha Krishnan turns a year older today. The actress, who is today one of the most wanted actresses of South, was born on May 4, 1983.  

Like most of the actresses, Trisha is also a model turned actor who began her career by winning the Miss Madras Pageant. The career which took off then, never saw a drip even when her initial films did not receive a favourable reception.

The films she did later won her accolades like Vijay Award for favourite Actress and she was also nominated for Filmfare Best Tamil Actress for her performance in Vinnai Thaandi Varuvaaya. She had also received 2010 NDTV Indian of the Year award under the Southern Star of the Year category.

She made her Bollywood debut with the Khiladi, Akshay Kumar in the movie Khatta Meetha.

She is currently the Goodwill Ambassador of PETA.

The actress is currently shooting for Samar and Endrendrum Punnagai.
