David Beckham's son was thrilled when Usher phoned him on his birthday.
The R&B singer is close friends with the British soccer star. David decided to plan something special for his son Brooklyn's 13th birthday and arranged for Usher to call him on Sunday.
Brooklyn is a huge fan of Usher's music and was left lost for words when he discovered Usher wanted to speak to him.
"As he was unwrapping a new Arsenal football kit, David casually walked in telling him there was someone on the phone who wanted to wish him happy birthday," a source told British newspaper The Daily Star.
Brooklyn first assumed it was another family member calling to celebrate his special day and couldn't believe it when he realised he was talking to Usher.
The teenager reportedly went "bright red" and told David it was the "best birthday present ever".
However, David's birthday treats didn't end with Usher's phone call.
The 36-year-old star also took Brooklyn to watch an LA Lakers game. The pair were spotted enjoying the basketball match from the front row, with David putting his arm around Brooklyn as they laughed and joked together.
David's wife Victoria Beckham remained at their Los Angeles home to prepare a special party for Brooklyn.
The singer-turned-fashion designer showed her excitement by taking to her Twitter account to post a photo of the family dog Coco wearing a brightly coloured party hat.
"Coco is celebrating Brooklyn's 13th birthday!" Victoria tweeted.
David and Victoria hosted a birthday party for their closest friends and family. They arranged for guests to play a number of games at their lavish mansion and also took Brooklyn's pals paintballing last weekend.
