(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Vanessa Hudgens became tired of the obscene rumours about her when she was dating Zac Efron.
The pair met on the set of 2006s High School Musical and quickly began dating. They have since broken up, but Vanessa still cant get to grips with how much public interest there was in the romance.
Living with constant speculation was tough, and she hopes she never has to go through that again.
It was interesting," she mused. "But we got to a point where it was just like, we just can't pay attention, because one week we'd be married and then the next week we'd be broken up and the next week I would have a baby. It was just the most obscene things.
Speculation about her relationship isnt the only difficult thing the 22-year-old has coped with. A number of nude pictures of the star have hit the internet over the years, which she is embarrassed and angry about.
It's just silly because I'm a very present person, and that's the thing that has been so in the past," she told Los Angeles Times. "The fact that somebody keeps bringing up the past is just selfish. I mean, it sucks. I already released a statement the first time it happened. It's just unfortunate that it keeps reminding people about the past and not the present."
Vanessa is currently carving out a movie career and is trying to show she can play many different characters. She appears in Sucker Punch, about a group of people at an insane asylum, and its the kind of edgy role she wants to become known for.
The star insists people have the wrong idea of her, seeing her as a saccharine Disney actress when many of her pastimes would amaze them. She revealed she loves spending time in the Venice Beach area of Los Angeles, which is famed for being a haven for hippies.
I love going to the drum circle down there. Every now and then someone will let me join in and bang on their drums, and I just love people who are completely free. Even if they're drug addicts, who sometimes freak me out. I'm figuring out how to be a better person while observing other people, she explained. (C) Cover Media
