Varun Dhawan played the over-ambitious high school student for his debut 'Student of the Year'. The movie produced under Karan Johar's banner Dharma Productions, was a super hit and the movie sure turned out to be the perfect launch pad for David Dhawan's son Varun.

He will next be seen in Balaji Motion Pictures' next titled 'Main Tera Hero' which is a remake of the Telugu blockbuster 'Kandireega'. This Bollywood flick which will be released sometime in 2014 is being directed by David Dhawan.

There is more good news for the actor as Varun has been signed for an action-packed thriller project which will be directed by Sriram Raghavan of 'Johnny Gaddaar' and 'Agent Vinod' fame. The movie which is being produced under Saif Ali Khan's Illuminati Films banner, will present Varun in a completely new avatar, as the actor will be seen playing an action hero in the flick.

From playing a competitive high school kid, to a romantic character in 'Kandireega' remake and now getting ready for an action-thriller, lets hope Varun is able to impress the audiences with his histrionics across multiple genres.
