Vijay's 'Velayudham' was scheduled for release for this Diwali and had a long shooting schedule of 180 days. Now the film is fast heading towards completion as sources reveal that Jeyam Raja has finished almost 80% of the shooting. Since the producers of 'Nanban' have decided to release the film by Diwali, it had spurned Vijay to make a decision on pre-poning the release of 'Velayudham'. He has decided to release the flick on June 22nd, his birthday.

Actor Vijay has worked hard for the film and decided to do something for the well being of the people, that includes him donating 100 cows to the poor people of Udumalapet, near Coimbatore, as part of a Hindu tradition, to pray for the success of the film.
