October 23, 2010 (Sampurn Wire): Nearly a week is left for 'Mankatha' to go on floors and director Venkat Prabhu has geared up for test shoots. Since the film involves bigger star-casts like Ajith Kumar, Nagarjuna and Trisha, Venkat Prabhu wanted to make sure that the younger league of actors do not go for more takes during shooting schedules. To ensure that the things go on as planned, he has been conducting test shoots for Premji Amaran, Vaibhav and Mahat Raghavendra.
Mahat Raghavendra, close friend of producer Dayanidhi Azhagiri wanted to make it bigger as an actor and he feels elated for having made his debut with such a great project. Venkat Prabhu has completed the script works and Yuvan Shankar Raja is close on the heels of completing the songs. It seems that Venkat Prabhu insisted on Yuvan Shankar Raja to complete the songs before the shooting commences.
Since this will be one of the most stylish films in Ajith Kumars career, costume designer Vasuki Bhaskar made a sudden trip to Mumbai to collect some good and fashionable costumes for the actors.
'Mankatha' is going to be Venkat Prabhus ticket to reach the group of A-league filmmakers in Tamil film industry. Although his previous film 'Chennai 600028', 'Saroja' and 'Goa' were good hits, this is the first time he is wielding megaphone for a big-budget film.
Good luck Venkat Prabhu!!!
