'Veppam', the Tamil action thriller directed by Anjana Ali Khan, is already seeing profits. The movie which is simultaneously going to release in Telugu as 'Sega' has taken almost three years to actually take shape, already has received a good response.
The film which has been co-produced by Gautham Menon's Photon Kathas and RS Infotainment, with a budget of US$ 550,000, is believed to have got much more the money than that was invested, even before the release of the film. The rights of 'Veppam' in Tamil Nadu are reported to have been sold for US$600,000. This is exclusive of the television rights as well as international screening rights, considering which the money amounts to around $200,000.
The movie started seeing profits even before its release and is already receiving reasonable reviews. It will be interesting to see if the movie continues this race even after its release.
