(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Victoria Beckham was the daddy of the Spice Girls, Geri Halliwell has revealed.

The English pop group also comprising Mel B, Emma Bunton and Mel C enjoyed chart success across the world in the late 90s and were renowned for their feisty attitude. Geri claims that when it came to making decisions and being responsible, she and Victoria always led the way. Geri says she was closest to Victoria in the band and she is glad they have remained friends despite pursuing separate careers.

If the Spice Girls were a family, Victoria and I were the parents. I am mummy she is daddy. We are very strong, the two of us together and I can talk to her about anything, she said during an interview for British television show Daybreak. You know what I love about her, even if she has a busy life she has three children and a business she always remembers to say good luck, she is very supportive and I really appreciate that. She is a good girl.

Geri is currently promoting her new range of beachwear. Even though the 38-year-old is currently focusing on fashion, she says music will always be important to her. The star is happy she has always been able to incorporate her two biggest passions into her life and will continue to do so.

I will always love music and it is still part of my life. I think music and fashion go hand in hand, she added. The funny thing is the first time I ever went on television with the Spice Girls, I made my own outfit for the appearance. So it feels full circle, I have always made my own clothes.

Geri also spoke about her experience of being a judge on British talent show The X Factor. She made a guest appearance on the panel alongside Simon Cowell and Cheryl Cole last year and relished the opportunity to discover new talent. However, she admits it was hard to be honest sometimes and was shocked by how hostile people were when she delivered her opinions.

I naturally love empowering people and helping them, so I loved doing it. But it was difficult, to be honest, when there is someone standing there in front of you and they are a bit rubbish, its hard to tell them, she explained. I got booed by about 4,000 people in Scotland because I was telling the truth and it was quite an experience to feel that. I also like the team, they are really nice." (C) Cover Media
