Victoria Beckham was sent into a "panic" whilst choosing an outfit for last year's British royal wedding.

The singer turned fashion designer and mother of four was pregnant with her daughter baby Harper at the time that Prince William wed Catherine Middleton in April 2011.

Choosing a glamorous outfit to wear while deep in her second trimester was a challenge for Victoria.

"First, obviously, [my husband David Beckham and I] were very, very excited," she explained in the April issue of American Vogue. "Then panic set in. What do you wear to the biggest wedding ever - when you're enormously pregnant?"

Victoria put together an incredible outfit, choosing a gorgeous flowing blue dress from her own line and donning Christian Louboutin pumps.

The star credits this successful last minute decision with how she has grown as a designer.

"At first I wanted clothes that people would associate with me," Victoria explained. "I was probably a little bit more self-conscious [when I first set out into fashion] - I was afraid to wear things that weren't super, super tight. In those days I wore a lot of corsetry. That was a sign of my own insecurities. By season three or four, I started doing a lot more research about things that I didn't like. And I started challenging myself. Now that I feel more confident, creatively I feel more satisfied. It doesn't have to be tight."

Victoria and husband David share sons Brooklyn, 13, Romeo, nine, and Cruz, seven and eight-month-old daughter Baby Harper together.
