Vidya Balan's magnum opus 'The Dirty Picture', is turning out to be too challenging for her, as every now and then the actress is falling ill due to the extreme treatment for the sequences in the film. Recently it was reported that she took a bold decision to break her 'No Smoking' decision and smoked around ten cigarettes for her role as the sexy siren 'Silk Smitha'. Nevertheless, after several retakes the scene was finalized by the director Milan Luthria. Now she is experiencing the hazards of smoking, a non-smoker, Vidya, having puffed away 10 cigarettes in a day, has painful ulcers in her mouth.

This is not the first time that Vidya has put her health at stake for the film, on the very first day of shoot of 'The Dirty Picture', Vidya picked a skin allergy when she was asked to soak in a bathtub filled with a harsh soap. Post that, Vidya was left with red rashes all over her body, which healed after she rushed to her dermatologist. Recently too, Vidya dared to stay in a pond for over two hours to shoot a song sequence in the same film. At that point she was lucky that she didn't catch the flu.
