While the news in the recent past surrounding the beautiful diva Vidya Balan is about her award winning spree and critically acclaimed performances, one does not have to go too far to recollect that this National Award winner was once slammed with a lot of criticism for her fashion sense both on and off screen.
But as they say, 'Experience is the best teacher', Vidya too took the criticism in a positive stride when she built on it for her forthcoming film 'Ghanchakkar'. In the film, Vidya plays an over-the-top housewife with a loud, poor fashion sense.
The actress could have very well declined the role as it was a sensitive topic that touched her fashion style which brought negative publicity for her in the past. However, the professional and confident actress opted to act like a perfect sport and gave her nod for the project.
Vidya recently confessed that during the times when she was slammed for her fashion sense, she was still confident and stood by her choices, and this attitude helped her during the film as well where her character despite the flaws ('different' fashion portrayal) is utterly confident about herself.
The actress wishes that every woman is as confident as her character Nitu Bhatia for being proud of what they are and how they look.
It is this courage of conviction that helps the highly focused and honest Vidya shine among the critics and her fans.
