Vijay's Kaavalan may not release for Pongal

14th December 2010
Actor Ilayathalapathy Vijay is going through a tough time as his upcoming film 'Kaavalan' isn't able to make it out of cans. The film was initially supposed to hit screens on December 10 and then was postponed to December 23 for the occasion of Christmas. However with the films produced by the family members of CM Kalainyar Karunanidhi hitting screens continuously in December and January, the theatres have been booked and the theatre owners aren't willing to release Vijay's film. Adding more to Vijay's confusion is the fact that he was purposely dropped from Shankar's remake of '3 Idiots' due to political pressures. Broken down in spirits, Vijay has flown down to USA and his father S.A. Chandrasekhar is now holding talks with AIADMK seeking her help to release his son Vijay's film 'Kaavalan'. But trade analysts are giving a hint that the film may not get even for Pongal as CM Karunanidhi's 'Ilainyan', Sun Pictures' 'Aadukalam' and 'Siruthai' are getting released with maximum prints.
