After playing rural youngster in a string of films like "Pasanga", "Kalavani" and "Thoonga Nagaram", Vimal for the first time is playing a city youth in "Ishtam", a Tamil remake of Tollywood hit "Yemaindi Ee Vela".
The movie directed by newcomer Nizaar has Kajal Agarwal's sister Nisha Agarwal making her debut in Kollywood. Interestingly, it was Nisha who played the female lead in "Yemaindi Ee Vela" too.
Says Vimal, 'It is an interesting story which deals about the lives of today's youngster. I play a software engineer who hails from Puducherry and works in Chennai. My life undergoes a big change after I meet Nisha. How his life changes, after he meets a captivating girl, forms the rest of the story".
Recently, Vimal shot for the movie in some exotic foreign locations. 'We were shooting in a hotel on the top of a snow mountain, where James Bond film "Tomorrow Never Dies'" was shot. It was 40 km from land, the highest point in Switzerland, and a very difficult uphill journey to undertake.'
