January 27, 2011 (Sampurn Wire): Hitherto, we have seen the likes of Lindsay Lohan and Paris Hilton be charged for driving under the influence of alcohol. And now it is the turn of rocker Vince Neil to face the music. If you are a resident of jail then be prepared to share 15 days with the famed rocker who has now pleaded guilty to allegations of DUI.
Initially, he had been pleading not guilty to drunken driving and speeding charges that have been haunting him since his arrest in Las Vegas in June 2010. He was bombed with allegations of driving his Lamborghini sports car at a speed exceeding the specified limit of 45 mile per hour. Not only was he driving the car at around 60 mile per hour but he was also doing so under the alcoholic influence. He failed to pass three field sobriety tests as his alcohol level in blood was thrice the legally permissible limit.
This Wednesday, 26th January, he pleaded guilty to the charges during a hearing in Las Vegas following which he was sentenced to 15 days of prison. Thereafter he would be serving another 15 days under house arrest.
Besides, the 49-year old would also be required to attend awareness lesson at a drink driving school and he would have to shell out a fine of $185. On 15th February, he would surrender himself to the officials at the Clark County Detention Centre.
This is not the first time that he will head to jail. He has earlier been jailed for 30 days in 1984 for his involvement in a car crash that led to the unfortunate demise of Hanoi Rocks star Nicholas Dingley.
