(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Vince Vaughn insists he would tell his best friend straight away if he ever found out that he was being cheated on.

The American actor stars in The Dilemma, due out in cinemas next year, in which his character Ronny makes the unwelcome discovery that the wife of his best friend Nick, played by Kevin James, is having an affair.

Ronny must then decide what to do about the shocking revelation but makes even more terrible discoveries along the way as he begins to investigate the situation.

Vince said that when he was first approached about making the film, he didnt see any mileage in it because the answer to the situation was obvious. However, he believes that the difficult question was how to handle the situation sensitively.

When they first told me the idea for the movie I said, Thats not a movie that is a 20-minute movie because youre stuck in traffic for 19 minutes and then you tell your friend, the actor told the Australian Radio programme the Kyle and Jackie O Show. The question isnt do you or dont you its how you navigate this particular mine field where you dont decimate him and at the same time you dont have the messenger get shot either.

Vince, who has also starred in The Wedding Crashers, revealed that it can be difficult when a friend breaks up with a girl and then they get back together shortly after.

The 40-year-old admitted that he has been in many awkward situations where he has criticised his friends ex-partner and then been shunned upon their reunion.

The only thing I can relate to is when a friend of yours finally breaks up with the girl and you open the floodgates and you go, Man, that girl was the worst you talk about self-centred can we talk about her more my gosh and then two weeks later theyre back together and they dont want to come over or got to a movie together, he revealed.

Vince also insists that none of his previous girlfriends have ever been unfaithful to him. However, he accepted that this could just be because he never found out.

I never was cheated on that I know of which means that all the girls I was with were probably either really crafty or I was really naive, he said. (C) Cover Media
