Vivek Oberoi fired from Shootout at Wadala?

15th January 2012

Vivek Oberoi at one point of time was extremely excited for his forthcoming venture in the name of Sanjay Gupta's "Shootout at Wadala". In the ambitious film he was supposed to don the villainous character of real life gangster Dawood Ibrahim. However regardless of the fact that the film was offered to him long back, he didn’t confirm his availability to his director friend Sanjay Gupta. The uninvited delay had caused a ruckus and Sanjay decided to replace Vivek for his unprofessional behavior to keep him waiting.

“We ran out of patience. I don't put up with such behavior. We don't want Vivek in the film now. We have also asked him to return the script,” declared Sanjay Gupta. In his justification Vivek quoted the following, “I have six films in the pipeline and despite of  wishing to do a dream role, at times dates can be an issue. Nevertheless, I understand Gupta is angry since he is a friend. But such things do happen. However, I would like to work with him in the future, dates permitting," said the actor.

It would be interesting to see if  Sanjay would plan to work with Vivek Oberoi again, after dealing with his unprofessionalism in this project.
