Why Bigg Boss? Agendas and Fundas...

4th October 2011

Why would anyone want to bring their personal lives purposely in the public sphere? Everytime Bigg Boss starts, many people ask this question to themselves. The very same question is asked even to the contestants and without doubt, each and every contestant has come on Bigg Boss for some reason or the other, for some overt and a few covert agendas.

Laxmi Narayan Tripathi, the celebrity LGBT (Lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender) activist wants to use this as an opportunity to spread awareness about the hijra community. Laxmi said, "It is undoubtedly the biggest platform for my activism. I want to make people aware about the issues of our community".

Nihita Biswas, wife of the serial killer Charles Sobhraj has come on the show to not just defend her husband, but tell the world who she really is. "He wants Indians to know more about me. I have nothing to hide. I live my life the way I want to. So I am ready to face any questions that the other inmates would have. I know that media reports have misled a lot of people about my husband. However, I will continue to defend him," says Nihita.

Pooja Bedi, the actor-anchor-writer was approached to be a part of the show even previously. Unfortunately she couldn't be a part of it before. She has been associated with the show before as a host for the Season 2, Saturday special episode. Pooja Bedi said that the show will help her and others know her better. "I am hoping that people will get to know the real Pooja, who is much more than a glamorous-looking woman", she said.

Some want the world to know them, some want to know themselves, but mostly most of them want name & fame. Now how these inmates of Bigg Boss season 5 utilise this platform will be interesting to see.
