He is the one who got Vidya Balan back in the big league with 'The Dirty Picture' and in an interview he got candid about the relationship he shares with the actress. Sharing great things about the actress, Luthria said "Vidya has a lot of genuine affection in her and you can see it on her face". In fact Luthria was very impressed with Vidya and so he was not sure if Sonakshi would be able to fill it up.

 

However, he was impressed with Sonakshi's performance in the movie. Milan feels that Vidya connects deeply with people and not socially, a reason why she has no visitors on sets or throws parties. He was impressed with Vidya as she gets small gifts for crew members and makes things special for them rather than impressing her co-stars. In fact Vidya got a gift for Luthria on the last day of 'The Dirty Picture', but got so emotional that she forgot to give it to him.

 

Milan shares a very special relationship with her which he doesn't like calling 'Friendship' as they don't meet often. However when he asked Vidya do a special appearance in 'Tayyab Ali' she said 'yes' without a second thought.
