Bollywood superhit romantic film 'Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge' has been entertaining the audience at Maratha Mandir in Mumbai for the last 19 years now.
The love saga is all set to complete a smashing record in December, by completing 1000 weeks in the theatre.
However, Manoj Desai, Managing Director of Maratha Mandir and YRF are considering pulling the film off the screen, post its 1000 weeks in December.
"Manoj Desai and Yash Raj Films will sit together to decide whether to run the film further or not as it will set a huge record in December by completing 1000 weeks. The decision to run the film further or not will not depend on the profit or loss as the show till today manages to attract decent amount of people. The decision will totally depend on the stakeholders and Yash Raj," said Manoj Pandey, manager of Maratha Mandir.
Last year, it was voted as people's most favourite feature film in a poll conducted by an UK's largest online Pay Per View (PPV) Indian movie streaming service.
Since its release, 'DDLJ' has been attracting the audience to the theatre. In fact, it's the longest running film in the history of Indian Cinema as it is presently running in its 990th week.
