(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Will Ferrell has been a sweetheart on the set of The Office.

In January, it was announced the Hollywood star had landed a guest spot on the American television series. Will is to play a branch manager from the home office and proves to be just as incompetent as the main character Michael Scott, portrayed by Steve Carell.

Will has already started shooting some scenes, much to the excitement of Rainn Wilson, who is Dwight Schrute in the series.

We've been doing a ton with Will Ferrell, and it is so cool, he said. I just keep thinking, 'I'm acting with Will Ferrell! This is so awesome!' And he's the nicest guy: just a sweetheart and so much fun.

This is Steves last season on The Office, and his friend Will asked if he could make an appearance to mark the occasion. The two appeared in Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy, and Wills request was swiftly granted. He will star in four episodes, and Rainn has given a small insight into whats in store for fans.

He is the new manager that Michael Scott has brought in to replace him, but we kind of swiftly realise that that's a terrible idea. Terrible, he laughed to MTV News.

When Wills stint on the show was announced, executive producer Paul Lieberstein spoke of his excitement. He was adamant Will would be a perfect fit for the programme, about an inept company manager.
