Rambo turns 66 today! An icon and Hollywood action heroism, Sylvester Stallone famously known as “Rambo” is responsible for creating two characters that have become a part world cultural lexicon: Rocky Balboa, the boxer who trounce all odds to become a champion, and John Rambo, the daring soldier who specialized in violent rescues and revenge. Both characters are mirror image of Stallone's personal experiences and the battles he waged during his transition from a poor kid in Hell's Kitchen to one of the world's most popular icon.

Sylvester Stallone was born Michael Sylvester Gardenzio Stallone in New York City, He attended Notre Dame Academy and Lincoln High School in Philadelphia. Later he attended Charlotte Hall Military Academy prior to attending Miami Dade College.

The action hero had his first starring role in the soft core pornography feature film The Party a Kitty and Stud's (1970). He was paid US $200 for two days' work. In the actor's words, "it was either do that movie or rob someone, because I was at the end, the very end-of my rope". The film was released several years later as Italian Stallion, in order to cash in on Stallone's new found fame.
