(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Wyclef Jean has returned home after a short stay in hospital.

The 40-year-old singer checked into a clinic, believed to be in New Jersey, over the weekend because he had been suffering from stress at the hands of his gruelling schedule.

Wyclef had been devoting all his energy to raising money for his native county of Haiti in the aftermath of the devastating earthquake there earlier this year. He also announced he would run for president of the country in order to aid restoration work, but he was left disappointed when his bid was rejected on a technicality. Upon his return to the US, he was thought to have been suffering from painful headaches.

The musicians spokesperson told Speakeasy yesterday that he had returned to his New Jersey home to recuperate, taking things easy and spending time with his family.

He is now home in New Jersey with his family and enjoying some much needed bedrest. Hes just plain exhausted and pushed himself way beyond human limits, said the spokesperson.

The hardworking star wont be taking too much time off though as he is reportedly planning to return to work next week, should all go well with his recuperation.

It is expected that when Wyclef is back in good health he will return on his quest to help rebuild Haiti and make it a stronger economic country.
