Yesteryear superstars inspire Tusshar Kapoor

19th October 2012

For his look in 'Shootout at Wadala', the prequel to Balaji's runaway hit 'Shootout at Lokhandwala', actor Tusshar Kapoor drew inspiration from the styles that veterans Amitabh Bachchan, Vinod Khanna and his father Jeetendra made infamous during the early 80's.

Directed by Sanjay Gupta, 'Shootout at Wadala' which is set in the period between 1972-81 required Tusshar to sport different hairstyles.

Says Tusshar, "In this film my character follows a graph of 10 years and the look is much more rugged. I decided to grow my hair and sport long hair just like my dad (Jeetendra), Amitabh Bachchan and Vinod Khanna did in those days. I went through all their pictures and only then chose my look."

Playing a role on the lines of Sheikh Munir, Tusshar even got under the skin of his character and visited Dongri, the location the gangster hailed from.

Reveals Tusshar, "I visited the area he resided in and spoke to several senior people from that area to understand Sheikh and also picked up the kind of lingo he used."
