Yesudas receives felicitation!

14th April 2011
The 12th of April was the beginning of 'Sri Ramanavami Festival'. This is very special in the premises of Fort High School, Chamrajpet, one of the most busy areas of Bangalore.

A day prior to Sri Ramanavami, the Sri Rama Seva Mandali, presented a cultural feast to honour Dr KJ Yesudas, who is a regular invitee for classical music festivals.

The Karnataka Chief Minister Dr BS Yedyurappa, in his speech, said that he was very glad to honour one of the best in the world of music; 'Dr KJ Yesudas'.

"Playback singer and classical vocalist, Dr Yesudas has sung over 40,000 songs in the last five decades and it is my fortune to honour him from among 6 crore Kannada speaking people," said the chief minister.

"Without listeners I am nobody. I am still very small. I still have the 'Guru Bhakthi'. It is found only in India. I don't find any difference between Christ, Rama and Krishna. It is not possible to learn Karnatic classical in one birth," said the stalwart singer Dr Yesudas.
