Zac Efron describes himself as a "desperate romantic".

The hunk is one of the most desirable bachelors in the world. He is currently thought to be single following his 2010 split from Vanessa Hudgens, although he has been linked to Rumer Willis and Lily Collins.

Zac loves sharing his life with someone special.

"Well, I am single now but I am desperately romantic," he admitted. "I even wrote a song once."

It's thought the tune was for Vanessa, who Zac dated for around three years.

The 24-year-old has a penchant for older women.

He particularly likes brooding brunette ladies and joked that in certain countries he struggles not to stare because the women are so attractive.

"My preference is for older women. My favorite actresses are Penlope Cruz, Rosario Dawson, Salma Hayek and Eva Longoria," he told Vanity Fair Italy.

"Dark hair and dark eyes are a perfect combination. I guess I cannot resist that Mediterranean look. That exotic allure. Every time I visit Italy I am daydreaming!".
