(Cover) - EN Movies - Zoe Saldana says she loves physical film roles.

The star revealed that she is a big fan of sci-fi and action movies and isn't afraid to get stuck in. The actress plays a female assassin in her latest movie Colombiana and was thrilled to take on a grittier character.

"I already have a very physical role in Avatar, and I really wanted to drive this experience further. And as a cinemagoer I love those movies: I am a big fan of science fiction and action movies," she told French magazine Be. "I have always admired the work of directors like Ridley or Tony Scott, James Cameron, Luc Besson. Actresses always have a special place in their productions. When I read the script for Colombiana, I realised that there was just a few movies where the killer, professional one, is played by a woman."

The 32-year-old also revealed that she enjoyed completing the intense training regimes for the movie. However, she admitted that keeping up the right mental attitude was more of a challenge.

"As a former dancer, I didn't struggle with the fighting scenes and the training that was required, but the fact of keeping all this hunger in me made me use lot of energy. I hired a former member of the Israeli army, an expert in martial arts, to coach me," she said. (C) Cover Media
