REVIEW

This gripping fare with a convoluted plot is a dialogue-less disappointment

Though Tigmanshu Dhulia directorial 'Saheb Biwi Aur Gangster 3' has a gripping plot with strong grey characters blending with the story-line, it is an average affair. The film revolves around Saheb aka Aditya Pratap Singh played by Jimmy Sheirgill who is behind the bars for a crime he never committed and this chaos which is conspired by his MLA wife Madhvi Devi played by Mahie Gill who is a slave to lust and power and doesn't want her husband to be out of this mess that she creates on her own. Although a late entry of Sanjay Dutt as Uday Pratap Singh a 'House of Lords' lounge owner from London and a polite Gangster carrying settlement under the nutshell. A man who has ''Maunvrat'' on Mondays and has his heart rooted to his homeland India Rajasthan where his love interest 'Chitrangda Singh' as an artistic classical dancer resides.

Finally keeping the vengeance angle of Saheb and Biwi at pause a pleasant romance is prospered between Chitrangda and Sanjay Dutt. Both Jimmy Sheirgill and Mahie Gill play their grey character with sheer conviction. Jimmy plays a royal princely brat with Soha Ali Khan as his first wife. Their back-story meets and the narrative becomes way more gripping on its second half.

The film is just seen falling in the climax as there are no intense dialogues to make it a joyful watch but creepy confrontations and blood all over the floor. Performances are spot on especially of the trio Gill, Sheirgill and Dutt. Soha Ali Khan as Saheb's drunkard wife has had the least screen-time. Her appearance had the slightest of purpose in the film's storyline. Tigmanshu Dhulia himself plays a miniscule cameo. Although a lot good to take away as well. Aditya Pratap Singh's blood relation and father's brother played by Kabir Bedi who is the Mansion owner along with his son Vijay played by Deepak Tijori, just glide into their onscreen characters smoothly.

The film has picturesque princely mansion from Rajasthan. The royal 'Rajwadas' act is essence-full and some prime locations are goldmine. The revolver and the vodka game in the end between Saheb and Gangster is intriguing but certain scenes are brainless as well. Just one song in the film featuring Sanjay Dutt and Chitrangada Singh creates romantic moments onscreen. The other two number 'Baba Theme Song' and 'Kesariya Jugni' by Nooran sisters are used as background score.

Technically speaking, Tigmanshu Dhulia direction and screenplay is the true reason the film did not go disastrously. It is a good one time watch affair and has a gripping plot that would leave the gangster drama fan with a lot of conviction. Although the climax is too vague and ends silently with just actions in the last 15 minutes of the film. The film doesn't add a lot of layers to it and completely leaves all the connotations from the first two parts. Cinematography by Amalendu Chaudhary is detailed and spot on catching every scene of the narrative perfectly. Film's editing by Praveen Angre is spot on and carries the narrative smoothly.

Can surely watch 'Saheb Biwi Aur Gangster 3' to enjoy the characters and the film's plot.
