Ranbir Kapoor to play a dacoit in YRF's 'Shamshera'

Yash Raj Film's official twitter handle tweeted Shamshera's first ever teaser. A film which will be helmed by Karan Malhotra featuring Ranbir Kapoor as a dacoit is expected to go on the floor by the end of 2018 and the shooting will wrap by mid-2019.

The 45 seconds teaser has animated footage of Ranbir Kapoor as a lethal dacoit standing with his army holding axe for the war. How would a lover boy turned dacoit would essay this challenging role is what all the Ranbir fans are concerned about.

Making it official YRF Films official twitter handle shared the teaser and captioned it, "करम से डकैत, धरम से आज़ाद Presenting #RanbirKapoor in a never seen before avatar in YRF's next action adventure #SHAMSHERA. Directed by @karanmalhotra21 | @ShamsheraMovie.''

Talking about the film, Ranbir Kapoor in a statement said, "Shamshera is exactly the film I was looking for. While growing up watching Hindi commercial cinema, I had an image of what a film hero should be doing. Shamshera allows me to do everything that I had imagined and it’s a very exciting project for me. Karan is going to take me completely out of my comfort zone and I’m looking forward to this challenge."

Meanwhile, the 'Tamasha' actor will next be seen in Sanjay Dutt biopic titled 'Sanju' releasing on June 29. The 35-year-old will also feature in Ayan Mukerji's 'Brahmastra' along with Alia Bhatt and Amitabh Bachchan which will hit the theatres on August 15, 2019.
