Finally confirmed by Bollywood trade analyst Taran Adarsh that Ranveer Singh is the final pick to play the legendary Indian cricket captain Kapil Dev in Kabir Khan's directed biopic. Trade guru Taran tweeted on Monday morning sharing this news on his official twitter account.

Taran tweeted, "#BreakingNews: Ranveer Singh will turn cricketer #KapilDev in Kabir Khan’s sports-based film… #1983 #WorldCup." 

The 32-year-old actor who is already committed with Sanjay Leela Bhansali's 'Padmavati' has his next project lined up. 

Kapil Dev is one of the best all-rounders of that time. His heroic approach helped India lift the 1983 World Cup at the royal Lords in London. Kapil Dev is an inspiration for many cricket lovers across India. Hence, it will be exciting to watch how well Ranveer Singh fits the shoes of the former Indian captain on screen.
