Good news for Rajinikanth and Akshay Kumar fans across the globe. As both, the veteran actors are going to face each other in the sequel of 'Robot' named '2.0' that marks its official release date now. This sci-fi flick is confirmed to hit theatres on April 14, 2018.

The promo of this Rajinikanth and Akshay Kumar mega-budget film will be launched at Natchathira Vizha 2018, Malaysia on January 6, which will be attended by mega-star Rajinikanth. In an interview, Akshay, the villain of 2.0 said that he has never done a role like this in his career. The Padman actor said, "I've never done a role like this in my entire career. And, I’ve never seen anyone doing a character like this. It was a whole new experience to play the role of an anti-hero."

Akshay has done many negative roles in his career, however, for him, this is a completely different role. The superstar further stated. 

Rajinikanth, on the other hand, said,"It will appeal to both the global and Indian audiences. Director Shankar has a nice social message for everyone in the film."

The movie features Amy Jackson, Sudhanshu Pandey and Adil Hussain in pivotal roles.The massive 450-crore film will release in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi. As per some sources, the delay of the film release was the assigned VFX studios not meeting the deadline.
