'Padman' to come a day before, just like periods sometimes

R. Balki directed 'Padman' starring Akshay Kumar, Radhika Apte and Sonam Kapoor in the lead roles was slated to release on Jan 26, the republic day of 2018. Whereas now, the producer of the film Twinkle Khanna has marked a new release date of the film announcing it on Thursday through her Instagram handle.

She captioned, ''Like a friend said 'A day early just like your period sometimes :)' Here comes Padman on 25th January 2018! #PadMan'' sharing Akshay's slow-motion video of him playing in the pile of cotton and wrote: "Superhero ke saath Super Republic week. #PadMan releasing on 25th January 2018."

PadMan is a social awareness movie that highlights menstrual hygiene issues in rural India. It is a biopic on Arunachalam Muruganantham, the maker of low-cost sanitary pad making machines.

On the talks of this movie, Akshay Kumar said, "When you celebrate it, the girl who is already going through a physical and hormonal transition, will feel confident and secure. But we excluded our women from the normalcy of life during those five days. So from the first experience, women feel that period is something they should hide. So you know where we should start from."
