Abbie Cornish: I detest arrogance

(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Abbie Cornish says arrogant people make her hair stand up on its ends.

The 28-year-old Australian actress has been dubbed one of Hollywoods most promising rising stars, starring in hit movies such as Limitless alongside movie hunk Bradley Cooper and upcoming action thriller Sucker Punch.

Abbies job requires her to have a great understanding of the human mind and the star would consider herself to be a particularly tolerant person. However, the actress admits she cannot abide egotism.

The only time where my hair stands up on its ends is when someone is very ill-informed, when theyre arrogant, when they havent educated themselves and they feel like they know what is right, but at the same time, they havent explored the truth of the situation, she explained to Cinema Blend.

Abbie also dislikes it when people try and push their opinions onto others. The movie star is a dedicated vegetarian, although she wouldnt dream of trying to stop carnivores from tucking into their favourite dishes.

You know, Im a vegetarian and very much active in regards to how I feel about animal rights and protecting animals and giving animals a voice, but at the same time, I appreciate and respect other peoples decisions to eat meat.

The only thing that I hope is that people are educated, that theyre aware, that theyre living a conscious lifestyle, she added.

The laidback star also discussed the perks of her career. According to Abbie, appearing in films can often be more like a hobby than a proper job. She especially found that to be the case when making Sucker Punch, which she stars in alongside Emily Browning, Jena Malone, Vanessa Hudgens and Jamie Chung.

We were all so sad when we wrapped on that film, because we felt like the family was sort of breaking up and I still stay in contact with everyone. For example, Jena Malone, shes one of my best friends. Its wonderful that feeling to me. Sometimes I call it play, sometimes I call it work, because its not defined just as work because its so enriched, she beamed. (C) Cover Media
